Who I am & what I do

Michele Dappert

DIGITAL CHANNEL MARKETING & WEB DESIGN
Called a “one woman marketing department” by the President of Singer Equities, Sam Petillo, I have been in the marketing field for 10+ years. The coolest things I have done includes:

  • Hand-coding a program to calculate cost at variable length for unique diameters of hoses
  • Working with a platform for digital rights management to protect saleable PDFs
  • Digital banner ads for local political candidates whom I was proud to know personally
  • Printing and applying vending machine Vinyl Wraps (think Coca-Cola Machines)
  • Hard Hat Stickers to show off our tough guys in the warehouse.
  • Creating valentines out of non-asbestos gasket material to display the fact we could custom-cut our gaskets to any shape.
  • Seeing my photos on a 10ft x 12ft banner at a trade-show booth.

I am a self-Motivated designer, marketer, writer and graphic artist with solid background and education in social media, HTML5/PHP&mySQL databases, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, and film/video editing and leading creative teams. I am Google AdWords certified.

I graduated from Emerson College with a bachelor’s degree in Media Production: Interactive Media, and two minors — Political Science and Photography.

A showcase of my website designs

Classic and modern website design in unique spaces, including: industrial hose manufacturing, local chapters of political organizations, and top NYC financial consultants. I do it all.

*EXPERTISE

What I'm good at

Web Design

Custom-built website design and development for each client, including hosting and training on how to use WordPress.

Print Materials

Brochures, one-pagers, postcards, or customized valentines — it’s up to you. I have worked with industrial manufacturers in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, political candidates in Talbot County, Maryland and financial corporate consultants in New York City.

S.E.O

Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing are ‘catch-all terms’ that cover the simple, vital need of every website: getting found online. I am Google Ads certified and trained in “white hat” SEO techniques including link-building on ahrefs, implementing detailed focus “long tail” keywords and optimizing a website to load in under three seconds. The first priority of any website is that it loads fast — and answers the question your visitor had.

Videography

An avid Youtuber since 2007 and trained at Emerson College in Boston in video editing, I work now in Adobe Premiere and film with my Sony HD Cam for high-quality, free distribution and top-grade online media presentations.

Social Media

I know — a millennial claiming that social media is important is #groundbreaking. My experience with linkedin, twitter, tumblr, facebook, instagram — and more importantly, how to combine your dashboard with things like hootsuite and schedule posts ahead — helps position your brand online so that your substance shines, and so your story is told.

*PROCESS

That’s how I work

Everyone’s business is unique. That’s why I take the time to delve deep into your brand as we collaborate on the best way to position you for success online.

Defining the Challenge

The process begins with a few deceptively simple questions. How do you work? What does your company or product bring to the table that is unique and interesting? Who do you envision helping with your service? What’s your favorite color (OK, that isn’t as crucial, but I’ll still likely ask it). We can get started with a phone call of just thirty minutes — or meet at Rise Up in Easton, MD (or a coffee place near you) to discuss your needs.

Conduct the Research

It may be cliche to say, but the beauty of the internet is the world of information at your fingertips. First I explore any of your existing materials — audit website for speed and keyword optimization, read your one-pagers, talk with your employees and research your competitors and markets. Utilizing tools online like MOZ and ScreamingFrog, I will provide you with the best keywords, key performance indicators for Digital Marketing, and a proposal for initial creative design that fits your company’s unique story.

Set-Up and Design

If we’re setting you up with a new website, the first two hours of the site development will be dedicated to launching the platform on an optimized server. I will install WordPress, your chosen theme, and discuss with you what content needs your business has.

Design & Development

Whether your needs are exclusively digital or utilize alternate marketing channels, we will meet to discuss the results of the initial research and go over the campaign strategies together. We can talk as little or as often as you prefer — but you will receive tangible materials detailing progress every step of the way.

Final Discussion

In the home stretch of a project, we’ll convene to review the deliverables, materials, content, design, logo, t-shirts, photos — whatever they are. These discussions are scheduled once the development has proceeded to the final hours so that we launch your site or project on time, with no downtime of services.

Quality Assurance

Once your digital channel marketing plan has been launched, I always schedule at least 2 hours of training for your in-house team. This is to enable you to be able to service and upkeep your products on your end as much as is feasible, and as much as you feel comfortable doing. Please do not ever hesitate to reach out with any other questions you may have. Whatever your digital marketing needs, my goal is to see you succeed online.
